KDCAL: AI Calorie Counter helps users record meals, estimate calories and macronutrients, review daily eating patterns, and receive next-meal suggestions. AI estimates can be wrong; users should review and correct results before saving.

KDCAL is a wellness and calorie logging app. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical conditions and does not provide medical advice.

AI coach is available only to adults age 18 or older. AI coach suggestions and calorie estimates may be inaccurate. They are not medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support.

Data We Collect

Profile and goal data, such as height, weight, target weight, sex, activity level, calorie target, language, and app settings.
Meal data, such as meal names, meal time, portions, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, AI confidence, corrections, and meal history.
Food photos selected or captured by the user for AI food recognition.
Health Connect or Apple Health (HealthKit) data, such as steps, weight, active calories, and sleep, only after the user grants permission.
AI Coach consent, requested scenario, displayed decision, and Helpful or Not helpful feedback with a selected reason, when the user uses those features.
Account, sync, subscription, diagnostics, analytics, and crash data needed to operate the service, verify Premium, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and support account deletion.

How We Use Data

We use data for calorie and macro estimates, meal logging, correction workflows, next-meal suggestions, daily review, weekly reports, Premium AI Coach guidance, sync, subscription verification, service security, diagnostics, and product reliability. No advertising or sale of personal data. Service providers acting only on KDCAL's instructions are not treated as third-party sharing for the Play Data Safety answer; KDCAL will not submit that answer until production processor contracts are confirmed.

AI Processing

When a user submits a food photo, the app sends the image to the KDCAL backend. The backend may send the image to an AI recognition provider for food recognition. For a user-requested AI Coach or report, meal and nutrition summaries, profile and goal fields, plan preferences, and optional Health Connect or Apple Health summaries may be sent to the KDCAL backend and configured AI processor only as needed for that request. KDCAL guidance is generated by automated AI systems.

Health Connect And Apple Health

Health Connect and Apple Health data are optional and are used only for daily review, calorie context, reports, and Premium AI Coach guidance. Users can revoke access in Android Health Connect settings or Apple Health privacy settings at any time. AI Coach consent can be declined or revoked in the app; declining does not block meal logging, photo recognition, barcode scanning, or manual entry.

Food Image Retention

Uploaded food photos are processed ephemerally and are not retained by the backend after the request completes. KDCAL does not retain raw uploaded image bytes. Recognition result caches use image hashes and results, not uploaded image files, and are pruned 7 days after creation; cache hits do not extend retention.

Accounts And Billing

There is no traditional username/password or Google user sign-in. When sync or an account-gated Coach request needs it, KDCAL creates a device-linked anonymous account. Premium purchases use Google Play Billing on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS. Product ID, hashed purchase verification data, transaction or order ID, entitlement status, and expiration information are sent to the backend and the applicable store API to verify Premium; store credentials remain server-side. Terminal purchase-verification records are pruned after 180 days unless account deletion removes them sooner.

Feedback And Reports

AI Coach feedback records Helpful or Not helpful and a fixed reason for a displayed decision. Weekly reports are generated from the user's logged meals, profile and goal values, and optional health summary. Feedback and reports are private; KDCAL has no public feed or sharing surface in this release. Coach cache data expires at its feature expiry and never later than 7 days; fixed Coach feedback is pruned after 12 months unless account deletion removes it sooner.

Retention

Telemetry, diagnostics, and crash logs are retained for 30 days unless account deletion removes them sooner. External deletion requests contain email or App user ID, request ID, status, and match metadata only; KDCAL does not collect a free-text message. Deletion-request metadata is pruned after 90 days. Account, profile, meals, Health Connect or Apple Health summaries, and corrections are retained until account deletion. A hashed deletion tombstone is retained for 30 days for safety and then pruned.

Deletion

Users can clear local app data from Account & Sync. Users can also delete cloud account data in the app or request deletion through the external account deletion page: https://forlineage.com/account-deletion.

Cloud deletion removes the cloud profile, meal backup, sync token, user-scoped AI correction and Coach feedback, Coach decisions, health summaries, purchase entitlement records, and user-scoped telemetry. Local meals remain on the device unless the user clears local data. Account deletion does not cancel a Google Play subscription and does not cancel an Apple App Store subscription; subscription management remains in the applicable store.

Security

Production traffic should use HTTPS. API keys are kept on the backend and must not be embedded in the Flutter app. The backend enforces entitlement checks, token rotation, rate limits, deletion workflows, and provider secret management.
